Amy Rabinowitz is the Manager, Work/Life & Recognition at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, the world’s oldest and largest institution devoted to prevention, patient care, research, and education in cancer. In 2004, Amy joined MSKCC’s Work/Life Initiatives Department, which offers backup child and elder care, comprehensive information and referral services, a small full-time children’s center, lactation rooms, consulting on schools and education, adoption reimbursement, a broad array of educational seminars, Take Our Children to Work Day and an extensive portfolio of flexible work arrangements. Three years ago, the department expanded to include all of MSK’s staff appreciation and recognition programs and events. For the past four years the program was awarded the WorldatWork Work-Life Seal of Distinction and Amy serves on their Work-Life Advisory Council.
Amy’s work/life experience began over twenty years ago at the Families and Work Institute. Prior to her work/life career, she was a foundation program officer making grants for education, women’s and children’s issues. Amy has a BA with honors in psychology from Wesleyan University and a doctorate in education and family policy from Teachers College at Columbia University. She is the adoring mother of an almost-13 year old daughter.
